COVID-19 has now impacted the daily lives of our nation for more than a year. This pandemic has taken the lives of more than 500,000 mothers, fathers, children, leaders, colleagues, neighbors, family, and friends. At SER National, we lift up and honor those lives that were taken by the pandemic. The loss is profound. It runs deep. We grieve what could have been and what should have been.
As more people are vaccinated, we look with hope to the future. The pandemic has exacerbated a divisive chord that runs through this nation, but it has also highlighted what can be accomplished when we work together. At our 200 SER locations across the country, we are still training people for jobs safely through technology. We have adapted to urgent needs, providing food and support for those we serve. We are moving forward together.
As we continue to mourn the precious lives lost to COVID-19, let us honor them by moving forward together. The negativity that dominated the headlines is not the only news there is. Good people are doing good things across this country. Hold on to that and remember how much more we can accomplish when we come together. Stay safe and continue to take care of one another.
During the first phase of community outreach, SER partnered with the Ford Motor Company Fund to distribute over 750,000 masks to communities across the US. Through the SER Network of Affiliates, the Ford Fund is providing free-of-charge masks to communities from coast-to-coast.
The second phase of community outreach calls for educating those communities about the importance of vaccinations.
